FileNova is a free online PDF and document toolkit. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to the files you upload, the limited account information we hold, how cookies and advertising technologies may be used, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to the FileNova website at filenova.site.

Files you submit to FileNova tools — including PDFs, images, and documents — are processed in memory for the task you requested. They are not written to a permanent file store, are not archived, and are not shared with other users. When the request completes, the processed data is released from memory and FileNova cannot recover it.

Because uploaded files are not retained, FileNova cannot restore a lost result. Always keep your original files and download your finished document before closing the page.

AI features — such as summarizing a PDF, chatting with a document, translating, extracting invoice data, and analyzing resumes — work by sending the text extracted from your document to FileNova's configured AI provider in order to produce the result you requested.

The text is transmitted for that single request and is not stored by FileNova afterwards.

If your document is sensitive, remember that AI features necessarily share its extracted text with the configured AI provider. The non-AI PDF tools — including merge, split, compress, convert, protect, sign, watermark, edit, and organize — run through FileNova's own processing systems.

If you create a FileNova account, we store the email address you sign up with and authentication information handled by our authentication provider, Supabase.

We do not ask for or collect names, payment details, or postal addresses through the FileNova tools. The core document tools can be used without an account where supported.

FileNova uses limited browser technologies to provide and operate the website.

The site uses browser local storage to remember your light/dark theme preference and, if you log in, standard session cookies that help keep you signed in.

Advertising Cookies

FileNova may display advertisements provided by Google AdSense and, where applicable, other third-party advertising partners.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies in connection with advertisements displayed on FileNova. These technologies may be used to serve, measure, limit, or improve advertising and, depending on applicable settings and consent requirements, may allow advertisements to be based on a user's prior visits to FileNova or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies may enable Google and its advertising partners to serve ads based on a user's visits to FileNova and/or other websites on the Internet.

FileNova does not sell uploaded documents or the contents of users' documents to advertisers.

All traffic to FileNova travels over HTTPS.

Files uploaded to the core document-processing tools are processed in memory and are not intentionally persisted as a permanent document archive.

Password-protected PDFs produced by the Protect PDF tool use AES-256 encryption, and FileNova does not store the passwords used to create those protected documents.

No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so FileNova cannot guarantee absolute security.

FileNova is not directed specifically at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to FileNova, please contact us so that we can review and address the situation where appropriate.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about how your data is processed.
