How PowerPoint to PDF Conversion Works
Upload your .pptx
Drop a presentation up to 50 MB. FileNova validates the package signature before anything is parsed.
Slide-by-slide parsing
The deck is unpacked in memory: slide size and order come from the presentation manifest, and each slide's shapes, text, images, tables, and groups are read from its own part.
Download your PDF
One PDF page per slide, at the deck's exact aspect ratio. The result summary shows how many images and characters were rendered and whether anything was skipped.
What is supported
- ✅ Slide order, size, and aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3, custom)
- ✅ Text with fonts sizes, bold/italic, colors, alignment, bullets, and wrapping
- ✅ Pictures (JPEG/PNG and common formats, converted automatically)
- ✅ Shapes with solid fills and outlines, lines, rounded boxes, ellipses
- ✅ Tables and grouped shapes; theme colors; multi-slide decks
Honest limitations
- ⚠️ Charts, SmartArt, and embedded media are skipped (and reported)
- ⚠️ Gradients, shadows, and 3-D effects render as flat fills
- ⚠️ Complex custom shape geometry renders as its bounding rectangle
- ⚠️ Legacy .ppt (binary) files must be re-saved as .pptx first
Your privacy
The presentation is parsed and rendered entirely in memory on the FileNova server. Nothing is written to disk, nothing is stored, and the PDF is streamed directly back to you with a no-store cache policy. Corrupted or invalid files are rejected with a clear message — never an internal error dump.
Frequently asked questions
How faithful is the PDF to my original deck?
Slide size and aspect ratio, slide order, solid backgrounds, pictures, shapes with fills and outlines, formatted text (size, bold, italic, color, alignment, bullets, word wrap), tables, and grouped shapes are reproduced. Charts, SmartArt, WordArt effects, gradients, and 3-D effects are not — they are skipped and reported in the result summary instead of being faked.
Do I need PowerPoint or LibreOffice installed?
No. FileNova parses the .pptx package and renders the PDF with its own engine, so the conversion works identically in any environment — including our slim production container. That also means nothing about your document leaves our server.
Can I convert a legacy .ppt file?
Not directly. The tool accepts the modern .pptx format (Office 2007 and later, and any deck exported by PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides). Re-save a legacy .ppt as .pptx in PowerPoint first — the tool tells you when it detects the legacy format.
Is the text in the output PDF selectable?
Yes. Slide text is rendered as real PDF text you can select, copy, and search — not a screenshot — while images are embedded at their original quality.
